The Fictional Retelling of STEVE JOBS Gets Pulled From Theatres

Unsurprisingly, the reimagining of Steve Jobs is failing at the box office – so in a matter of days it won’t be in theatres any longer. The movie that was sectioned off into 3 different Product Launches and the chaos surrounding the moments before, with a mostly fictional script of dialogue (meaning none of the conversations realistically took place). Audience members found the plot strewed too far from reality and focused on aspects of Jobs’ life that weren’t as substantial in real life.

Could it be that after the uninteresting JOBS (2013) starring Ashton Kutcher, audience members didn’t care for a remake of a biopic? Or is it simply that people aren’t as interested in the creator as the creations themselves?

The thing that bothered me the most about these two movies – while completely different, yet telling a similar story, neither focused on the iPod or iPhone technology that Steve Jobs is iconic for. Of course both films displayed the foundation of Apple and Jobs’ career, but neither went past the first iPod. In fact, the last scene of Steve Jobs (2015) was him talking with his daughter about how annoying he found it that she had to carry a walkman with discs everywhere. Just a tease of the first iPod! NOTHING about the first touch screen iPhone created in 2007.

Although Steve Jobs may or may not have had much to do with Apple Co. at that point – if anything is prevalent in these biopics, it’s that Jobs didn’t play well with others – the movies should’ve had a greater reach of their story. They should have continued until Steve Jobs death, not ending by teasing the first iPad, as if they were expecting to do a biopic sequel…

The reason that Steve Jobs is getting pulled from theatres is simple: nobody is watching it. It’s not a bad movie (I am one of the few that watched it apparently), it just doesn’t show the viewers what they wanted to see about Steve Jobs – therefore people weren’t willing to view it. THAT simple.

As well, where was Steve Jobs’ history with Pixar and Disney? A movie about Steve Jobs the legendary creator and there’s no mention of his work in movies?

HOPEFULLY there isn’t another Steve Jobs biopic for a while because after TWO flops, I think the people have spoken – don’t remake the Steve Jobs biopic again. At least for a decade or two.

What did you think about the STEVE JOBS movie? Did you actually see the movie?
