Here are five things that The Walking Dead built up all season and failed to deliver in the midseason finale! If you have not seen the episode there will be spoilers in this, you’ve been warned.

FIVE Things “The Walking Dead” Failed To Deliver In Mid-SEASON SIX Finale:

We wanted to see Carl lose his eye! This is a huge part of the comic books (The Walking Dead is originally a graphic novel comic book series & continues today) and is a vital storyline that fans hoped to see sooner! At the end of last weekend’s episode “Heads Up” (S6 E7) Ron (Austin Abrams) follows Carl (Chandler Riggs) with his gun drawn, ready to shoot him, only to be interrupted by the hoard of Walkers breaking down the wall. Fans theorized that Ron shooting Carl with his amateur aim, would result in not a kill, but a lost eye!The walking dead review season 6 s6 heads up start to finish carl's eye chandler riggs glenn rhee steven yeun maggie greene lauren cohan negan abraham daryl dixon norman reedus sasha TWD fear the walking dead
In the Mid-Season finale “Start To Finish” (S6 E8), Ron locks himself & Carl in the garage to try again, only Carl sees it coming & knocks his gun out of his hands. As the community is being filled with Walkers, these two have a pushing match that results in a broken windowed door, that lets all the Walkers inside the house.
Even Chandler Riggs has been waiting and said that he would love to have that story line of the comics to happen! He said Carl’s grown up so much in the past seasons, that losing his eye would make for a very mature story arc for Carl’s character and growth! As well with Enid (Carl’s girlfriend in the comics) returning with Glenn, this creepy moment can happen (Enid licks Carl’s eye to prove she thinks it’s … sexy). It’s awfully gross, but I feel like it should still happen in the show.

The Walking Dead Season 6 has been teasing Glenn’s fate for the majority of the first half of this season, and it was finally revealed that Glenn was still alive! Although, we wanted Glenn & Maggie to be reunited in the mid-season finale and join the group at Alexandria. At the end of the episode we got a glimpse of this as you see Glenn look over part of the wall & sees Maggie on top of that look at a point. Where she’s stuck by yourself with the a whole bunch of Walker’s around her and she doesn’t have any ammo. But if there’s anything Glenn’s good at, it’s rescuing people in tough situations – he saved Rick at the end of season one (telling him to go under the tank), and most recently himself when he hid under a dumpster for 7 hours!

We were teased with the announcement that the actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan would play NEGAN at some point in this season of The Walking Dead. For those that haven’t read the comics, Negan is like the Governor (David Morrissey), but even more violent & ruthless. Negan’s best friend is the baseball bat that’s wrapped in barbed wire that he smashes people’s heads in for fun. Also, when people disobey him he burns off half their face & takes their women… he’s nuts. BUT fans got so excited about the announcement that they hoped they would see him in the Mid-Season finale. Although if you watch the After Credits Scene, The Saviours make their first appearance and hint that Negan is coming.

Which brings me to Daryl, Sasha & Abraham. Season Six has been tough for these three – at first they were the distractions meant to lead the gigantic thousand Walker herd away from Alexandria. But things rarely go as planned as they all got attacked & are separated. Daryl is left on his own, gets taken hostage by a small group and robbed of his motorcycle & crossbow. Whereas Sasha & Abraham go in the opposite direction, lose their car & end up searching a town for supplies while avoiding the larger herd. BUT, now it looks like Negan has just taken them prisoner! We wanted to see Daryl, Sasha and Abraham regroup with the people at Alexandra, but that doesn’t look like it will happen anytime soon.

The Wolf is currently an unnamed character, only really known as Alpha Wolf that appears to be the  leader of the group with W’s on their foreheads that came in and slaughtered people on the streets of Alexandria. Although, Morgan had met him previously & believes people can change for the better, even in the world they live in now, so he has refused to kill him, and has kept him alive for days. During the Walker’s break in to Alexandria, Carol & Morgan get put together in a house, but she doesn’t trust him & for good reason. She insists the Alpha Wolf must die for their safety, but Morgan denies it. She threatens to kill Morgan if need be, in order to kill the Wolf. But in their struggle to fight each other, the Wolf knocks out both of them & ends up taking the doctor hostage when he escapes. Now most of us thought that the Wolf would be lead to some sort of connection to the bigger group of Wolves, but not yet.

So will we see Glenn reunite with Maggie safely? When will we see Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan? Will Carl lose his eye like in the comics? What will Morgan & Carol do when they wake-up & realize the Wolf has taken the doctor Denise? As well, does appearance of The Saviours & mention of Negan mean the three first people to meet Lucille (Negan’s bat) will be Sasha, Abraham & Daryl? What do you think The Walking Dead Season 6.
