ACE VENTURA 3 is in the works at Amazon, with writers of Jim Carrey’s latest movie Sonic the HedgeHog working on the script. It looks like Ace could be pulling out his Hawaiian shirts soon after all!

APPARENTLY MILLIONS of fans of the original ACE VENTURA movie franchise have been overwhelming the official Ace Ventura facebook page during the past year with Covid. Leading production company Morgan Creek to make the decision to return to the wacky world of Pet Detection with the long awaited return to the Ace Ventura franchise! The trilogy will finally be complete!

IS JIM CARREY RETURNING FOR ACE VENTURA 3?

The announcement of a third Ace Ventura (excluding the dismal non-Jim Carrey Ace Ventura Jr. Pet Detective) is exciting news for fans of the bizarre franchise and certainly for all those nostalgic parents that want to revisit one of the favourites from nearly 30 years ago! ALTHOUGH the announcement includes that writers from Jim Carrey’s film Sonic the Hedgehog will be helming the script for AV3 but the announcement did not confirm whether or not Jim Carrey himself will return but it’s pretty strongly implied & also – who the hell else would be able to fill that role?

WILL ACE VENTURA 3 BE A REBOOT, REMAKE OR A SEQUEL?

From the announcement made about the future of the Ace Ventura franchise it appears this will serve as a direct sequel continuing on from the 1995 sequel Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls and ignoring Ace Ventura Jr. Pet Detective… THE QUESTION BECOMES Will Ace Ventura 3 focus on Carrey’s cult classic character or will this be a next generation type sequel?

 

COULD EVAN PETERS BE ACE VENTURA’S SON?

The latest rumour that has come with the news of Ace Ventura 3 is that Evan Peters (Quicksilver in FOX’s X-Men franchise, American Horror Story) could be playing the kooky beloved character’s son – could this be a passing of the torch film? Only time will tell! After his performance in WandaVision, many fans have noted how kooky & silly Peters actually can be & it’s reminiscent of Jim Carrey’s performance in Ace Ventura so naturally rumours are flying!

WHAT MADE ACE VENTURA HAVE A COMEBACK 27 years later?

Speaking to Park Circus, the production company Morgan Creek explained in a statement:

“We’re pretty excited about our franchise developments with Exorcist and the Ace Ventura franchise – it’s noticeable from the 3 million fans chatting on the official Facebook page for Ace Ventura that audiences are clamouring for a 3rd instalment…

“During COVID, audiences have been in love and are thrilled to have beloved characters brought back with new stories. Ace Ventura will see a new day at Amazon as a major motion picture/theatrical with the Sonic the Hedgehog writers.

“Moving forward, we aim to continue to work with visionary filmmakers (as we have always done) and deliver the type of experiences that audiences love.”
