SlashFilm reports that The Goonies sequel that’s been up in the air for, what feels like, forever is finally on the right track to being made.

Recently, Richard Donner (director of The Goonies) was (more or less) harassed/asked by TMZ about the possibility of a sequel and he let slip that The Goonies II (running title) is finally underway and when asked if any of the stars from the original movie would return for The Goonies 2, Donner responded “Hopefully all of them!”

There was a rumour that the plot would be the kids of the original, but I’m not sure how I feel about those “next generation” movies, they usually tank.

What do you guys think? Will you go watch a sequel to The Goonies 30 years after the original? What do you want the plot to be?
