According to ComicBookMovie.com, “the All-Father”/Odin (Sir Anthony Hopkins) could just be done with Thor movies.

If you haven’t seen the best Marvel to date, otherwise known as “Thor: The Dark World” (yes, it surpasses The Avengers, that’s how good it was), them don’t read further.

(You were warned to not read further)

…at the end of Thor 2, we find out that Loki is not dead, and that Odin might be…

In the movie, they never explain what happened to Odin, all they show is that Loki is impersonating him with one of his tricks and since Thor wants to not be constricted by the throne, Loki has Asgard…

But, actor Sir Anthony Hopkins (who plays Odin) might be the deciding factor with the statement:

Maybe Odin dies, I don’t know. I’ve done two, that’s enough

Director Alan Taylor came out and said:

“That was a big twist. It took us a while to realize that we were actually going to kill him. And then it took us a while to realize that we were going to do that at the end.”

While Marvel Studios Presidetn Kevin Feige said:

“Like all of our plans at Marvel Studios, we know where we would like to go if given the opportunity. We have very good ideas whether the All-Father is with us or not.”

Will Sir Anthony Hopkins return for the role of Odin? Or will he get replaced? Or is all just to mislead people for what comes next in the Marvel cinematic universe?
