Chris Columbus (director of Mrs. Doubtfire) confirmed recently that there was so much extra improvised footage for nearly every take of every scene that an entirely unseen & R-Rated version of the film exists! Fans of the comedy cult classic starring Robin Williams started a #ReleaseTheRRatedMrsDoubtfireCut campaign effort on twitter – let’s see if this gets the same traction that the #SnyderCut of Justice League did!
This is of course still only a dream until it becomes a reality so fans of the original movie are pushing hard to get the release of Mrs. Doubtfire nearly 28 years later! That’s just incredible & I can’t wait to see what comes of these fan efforts!
MRS DOUBTFIRE R-RATED CUT BECAUSE OF ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE?
OF COURSE! The incredible true story behind the production of Zack Snyder’s Justice League, him having personal family trauma, him stepping away from completing the film & Avengers/Buffy The Vampire Slayer director Joss Whedon stepping in, completing the movie how he felt & for nearly 5 years fans online begged Warner Brothers to give Zack Snyder the chance to complete his vision for the film – which was just released last week & is 4 hours long. It’s an epic story that finally feels like it’s been told to it’s fullest ability. SO YES. Long story short – any future project (including Mrs. Doubtfire if it gets a rerelease) that gets released or rereleased or reedited & rereleased can all pretty much thank Zack Snyder & the DC fans that pushed so hard for the “real” version of the movie to be released.
FANS OF MRS. DOUBTFIRE are not going to go quietly into the night – they want the full raunchy R-Rated version of the cult classic that came out nearly three decades ago.
Hopefully there will come a big release of Mrs. Doubtfire with all the R-Rated goodness that Robin Williams delivered all those years ago that never got released to the public!
What do you all think of the possibility of an R-Rated cut of Mrs. Doubtfire? Do you think the fans can make this a reality?
