Blue Mountain State: The Rise Of Thadland is to be released in theatres sometime fall 2015 according to B.M.S. star Alan Ritchson, a.k.a. Thad Castle. The film, will serve as a follow-up to the Animal House-esque College football series and focus on Thad Castle’s first year in the NFL. Rather than the series which focused on Alex Moran’s (Darin Brooks’) laid back style of QB. The 3 seasons of the show followed 3 years of Moran & Castle’s BMS careers as Captain and Quarterback. All while they’re more frat than football – the best part.

BMS: The Movie – Latest Update

The release date of the film depends on Lionsgate studios at this point – Alan Ritchson announced that the release will be sometime in fall of 2015! The film wrapped production several months ago (March 2015), and the cast have been waiting just as patiently as the fans for the latest updates. The movie received an NC-17 rating (Rated R), so that’s probably what’s holding the release.

The film, was crowd funded by fans (myself included), and is said to bring back characters from the series! Now that Thad’s in the NFL, he has to adapt, but I’m sure the BMS boys will have some crazy shenanigans for their old Captain as set photos show most of the team returning. Most interestingly Sam Jones III (Shilo) and Page Kennedy (who pseudo-replaced Jones III for the 2nd season as a different character).
