According to IGN, details about the upcoming Marvel/Netflix series have been revealed at the Television Critics Association press tour held today. Netflix CCO Ted Sarandos, addressed how Daredevil‘s success and fast track for a second season will effect the eventual release of “The Defenders” team-up show. As well, the question of whether The Punisher could get his own spinoff series was asked, and it’s possible.

“I think ideally there will be a rhythm of about every six months you’ll get a new season or a new series from the Defenders group,” Sarandos said. “And then they’ll crossover into a combined [Defenders] season once we’ve launched the first season of each of the four characters. Some will selectively have multiple seasons as they come out of the gate. So they’ll probably be two launches a year.” (Source IGN)

Although Daredevil has already started filming it’s second season, the other proposed pre-Defenders shows (Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage) haven’t even had their first seasons. The one that’s concerning is Jessica Jones that’s been in production for a while, and has no official release date as of yet, especially if they plan to release a season of each of the show’s every six months, will Daredevil or Jessica Jones be released next?

As well, the other Marvel/Netflix shows will selectively receive second seasons, Daredevil seems to be an exception. On top of that, breakout characters like Jon Bernthal’s The Punisher could get solo series down the line if they’re successful.

“It is possible for sure,” says Sarandos of the possibility of doing a Punisher series although the focus now is on The Defenders team-up. “That’s the beauty of the Marvel universe. Any of them could spin out into films too.”

And as for a release date for Jessica Jones, guests at the TCA sort of have an idea:
