The studio is so confident in the upcoming X-Men: Days Of Future Past, that they’re even (sort of) crossing over the legal boundaries of which Marvel characters belong to which studios with a special trailer for X-Men: Days Of Future Past after the credits of Amazing Spider-Man 2.
Plus, they have just about started filming the reboot of the Fantastic Four starring Miles Tellar, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara and Jaime Bell.
And if my feeling is right, they’re looking to expand and crossover between these two franchises.
In an interview with SFX, Mark Millar responded to a question about whether of not the X-Men and Fantastic Four share the same cinematic universe:
“Without question I think you have to see some of these guys showing up in each other’s movies. I think the most exciting thing in superhero movies, until The Avengers came along, was when Nick Fury showed up in Iron Man. Even though it was a guy with an eye patch it was really cool – and I expect we will see more of that.”
But, he straight up denied any crossover plans at the moment:
Well, here’s Fox’s lineup for the next couple years:
X-Men: Days Of Future Past – May 23rd, 2014
Fantastic Four – June 19th, 2015
X-Men: Apocalypse – May 26th, 2016
The Wolverine 3 – March 3th, 2017
Fantastic Four 2 – July 14th, 2017
Untitled X-Men Movie – 2018
Now, there are rumours that the X-Men and Fantastic Four franchises are being built up so they can crossover in possibly the Untitled X-Men Movie that’s coming out in 2018.
What do you guys think? Is there a possibility that these two franchises could meet up in 2018? Do you think we could see some serious spoilers in the after-credits scenes?
