Top Gun 2 has been on and off and now we’ve finally got some potential plot details from MovieNewz.com:

Jerry Bruckheimer has revealed that Top Gun 2 will reflect today’s changing world of warfare. “The concept is, basically, are the pilots obsolete because of drones. Cruise is going to show them that they’re not obsolete. They’re here to stay,” the producer told The Huffington Post. Bruckheimer signed a first-look deal with Paramount Pictures to produce the long-awaited sequel, which is being developed by Skydance Productions with Tom Cruise set to reprise his role as Pete “Maverick” Mitchell.
