Tom Cruise & Brad Pitt to “Go Like Hell” in Ford-Ferrari biopic

Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise are set to star in the 60’s rivalry story about Ford & Ferrari called “Go Like Hell”. Cruise has been attached to the project for a while, and Pitt is being talked to about joining the cast, but has not confirmed yet.

Side note: The acting duo are reuniting after not being in a movie together since “Interview With A Vampire”. Also, this will be Cruise’s second time behind the wheel of a (crazy fast) racing car: anyone remember “Days Of Thunder”?

The film will be based on A.J. Baimes’ novel (“Go Like Hell: Ford, Ferrari and Their Battle for Speed and Glory at Le Mans“) and is being pushed into production after the success of Ron Howard’s “Rush” in late September.

So far, there’s no word on the release date, but production will start soon, and with Pitt working on a sequel to the zombie-flick “World War Z” and Cruise to start filming for “Mission Impossible 5” soon as well, a good guess would say that this movie could come out in early 2015.

The movie is being directed by Joseph Kosinski (Oblivion, Tron: Legacy) and will follow the 1966 battle between Ford and Ferrari to win “Le Mans”, the 24 hour race that turned out to be the most brutal one in history.

Tom Cruise has signed on to play Ford associate Carroll Shelby. Who would Brad Pitt play? His character has not been confirmed, and but then again, neither has he…

Production started on this movie in 2009 with director Michael Mann, and Pitt was signed on to star. But then, production got stalled, the director dropped out, and then Cruise signed on to play Henry Ford II, but now he’s going to play Carroll Shelby, but Pitt has maintained interest in the project so maybe he will play Ford now?I don’t quite know if they’re interchangeable actors… Better yet interchangeable characters.
