Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has officially signed on to the disaster flick “San Andreas: 3D” about a father going across the state searching for his daughter after a major earthquake.

According to the article on Variety.com, this is a pretty significant movie because it’s the first 3D disaster movie, it’s the 2nd movie where Dwayne Johnson and New Line Cinemas have teamed up (the first being “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island”) and that the movie will begin filming in the first couple months of 2014 April 2014.

Once Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is done filming “Hercules: The Thracian Wars” in Hungary, and then his part in “Fast & Furious 7” in Atlanta, he’s gonna start filming for “San Andreas: 3D” in (what Variety.Com referred to as) the first quarter of 2014.

MGM and Paramount Pictures also want to get production started on the third instalment of the “Journey” franchise starring Johnson, so it’s safe to assume that’ll start mid-2014 (after he’s filmed his part for “San Andreas: 3D”).

And so far, there’s no word on Johnson’s other projects:

– production for “G.I. Joe 3” has no start date yet , but Johnson and Bruce Willis have officially signed on for the sequel, which means the script is completed.

– there were rumours that Johnson would go head to head with Arnold Schwarzenegger in “Terminator 5”, but Arnold himself said that production would start in early 2014.

Then there’s three other projects that Dwayne Johnson is listed on being a part of on IMDB:

And there’s no release dates or production start dates for any of these three projects…

It looks like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is going to be pretty busy the next year, especially is he still wants to sneak on to the set of “Star Wars: Episode 7″…
