So the word is that there will be a third Machete movie probably entitled: “Machete Kills Again” or “Machete Kills Again… In Space!” According to IMDB.com:

Also according to IMDB, it’s supposed to come out sometime this year… That’s probably because both Machete Kills & the third one got green-lighted at the same time. So you have to wonder when he’ll have time to finish Sin City: A Dame To Kill For… But for the mean time check out what Machete could look like in space:

This is what Robert Rodriguez (the director) said this about the 3rd Machete movie:

“It is a space opera. It does take place in space. Machete has to go into space,” Rodriguez confirmed. “It’s so absurd but it makes sense. You’ve got to go somewhere new in a third part — why not go into space? It’s going to be so fun. It’s played straight. Remember ‘Moonraker’? It’s going to be like ‘Machete’ and ‘Moonraker’…..You see him in a space shuttle,” Rodriguez told us. “The bad guy escapes the planet. ‘Part 3’ has to take place in space. Space babes, a machete-shaped lightsaber. You gotta have it!”

Also, Rodriguez confirmed that they filmed a faux trailer for Machete 3 (since it isn’t technically named yet), before they even filmed Machete Kills, and that it probably will be attached to the end of Machete Kills. Exciting stuff for Machete fans.
