The word around the internet is that Irishmen Jonathan Rhys Meyers might have just gotten the lead in the upcoming Star Wars sequel “Star Wars Episode 7”. He has a previous connection to the director (JJ Abrams), since they both did Mission Impossible: III together.

The rumour is that Rhys Meyers could be playing Han Solo & Leia’s son Jacen Solo (who becomes Dath Caedius), but there really isn’t any confirmation of anything at this point besides JJ Abrams is in talks with Rhys Meyers at this point.

Is Jonathon Rhys Meyers a good fit for the Star Wars universe? Would he be out of place because of his accent? – I don’t think so, I mean Liam Neeson was one of the best characters in the prequel trilogy and he’s also Irish… plus, as we’ve seen from Rhys Meyers recent roles, he hides his accent pretty well. On another note, what character do you think he’ll be playing?
